Looks like it is shaping up to be another bad year for the riding community. I've known several riders who have taken their last ride in the past few years.
Danny-DUI into a guardrail. Pops-hit by cage. Chris-hit by cage. Dragonlady-hit by semi. Ripperoo from San Berdoo-diabetes (I didn't know him personally, but his columns in Easyriders helped to get me started in the lifestyle). The ancient one-heart attack on his scoot, hit by cage after dropping the bike. Stevie-hit by cage. The list goes on and on.
Eventually, someone you know or respect will take their last ride. Knowing that it will happen doesn't make it any easier to deal with.
Ya'll ride free. Treat every ride as though it could be your last.
